Confidence Score

A confidence score is a number that represents how certain an AI system is about a particular prediction or classification. It is not a guarantee that the result is correct.

Also known as: Prediction confidence; probability score; certainty score

Why it matters in collision repair

Confidence scores can help determine when an automated result is acceptable for review and when a claim, image, or estimate should be escalated to a person.

A model identifies a damaged headlamp with high confidence but assigns low confidence to possible hood damage, prompting an estimator to inspect the hood manually.
